In this series of pulp painted crows, I combine an image of the crow with a watermark of a Viking rune. Runes are symbols used by the Vikings which are imbued with a particular meaning. I put the bird in a posture to emphasize the meaning of the rune. When the piece is backlit, the rune symbol reveals itself as a watermark. Read more about this series on my blog.
See "Warrior" with a watermark of the Viking rune Teiwaz.
